It always bothers me how most of these indie rap/hiphop-type songs are so rambly and incongruent. Like, I know this was written by three separate artists, but did they collaborate and share their verses before putting it all together? Why is half the song “I still love you, I’m still waiting for you, please come back,” then in the middle it jumps to “I’m so over you, don’t come crawling back to me, get out of my life,” then goes back to the whining and begging for the girl to come back again? Like, I guess it could represent the conflicting feelings one has about getting dumped, not wanting it to be over, but still mad at the other person for doing it, but still, it just always sounds so strange to me.

Polycat is still killing it with their unique retro sound~
I love the bittersweet lyrics of this song, the way the singer reveals his feelings towards the girl while trying to reassure her the guy she’s with (or getting married to, as in the music video) really cares by comparing it to the way he acts around her. I also really like how Polycat has been using Blasians/African actors for their music videos for the last couple singles. It’s refreshing from the usual Eurasian/East Asian look you usually see, and nice to see that demographic getting recognition and representation. Yet another way Polycat is keeping themselves outstanding from the rest of the crowd

A sad song for anyone currently missing someone~ I like how the music video described a man missing his daughter after having been arrested and sentenced to 17 years in jail when his ex threw him under the bus when she was caught for money laundering, again taking the emotions of the song away from the average romantic theme and making it about parental love.
