What a nice, smooth, easy-listening release for New and Jiew~ Though the lyrics are your average “I-was-waiting-for-my-soulmate-and-finally-found-you” lyrics, it still sounds very nice, and I like how their voices mesh together. The music video is also interesting, telling the story of a 30 year old who had never been in a relationship before, trying everything to meet guys and find “the one”, until she finally met him. I like the encouraging support she got from the online community as well, urging her that she shouldn’t try to be someone else, that age doesn’t mean anything, that she shouldn’t rush into things and force things. Don’t let the long wait discourage you, love will happen when we stop trying to force it

I don’t mean to swear on my site, but what the f**k is this? Am I misunderstanding the Chinese loan words in this or is this seriously the song?
I was actually excited from the teasers, imagining them to be a modern country version of the China Dolls (as everyone has been calling them), but not even China Doll’s Japanese-obsessed song “ตี๋ซัง / Dtee Sung (I Hate Chinese Boys)” comes close to this level of awkward self-hating and fetishizing another culture. Noooo, Grammy. Nooooooo. Don’t do this.

Am I weird for being weirded out by this? Does anyone else find it uncomfortable? Chinese boys, do you find it weird? Or is it flattering?

It also bothers me that the “Aiyaiyai wo ai ni” parts sound so much like SMiLE.dk’s song “Butterfly” (Ironically another song that fetishizes Japanese boys). Makes me want to find a Para Para Paradise cage haha (do those things still exist??)

This song really reminds me of the classic Paradox I used to listen to in highschool, both in the sound and the melancholy longing of the lyrics. Paradox has always been a band with a wide range, and one of the few who didn’t change after going major label. The music video is simple but illustrates the song nicely, portraying a frustrated girl angry at her struggles in ballet, but never giving up until she finally achieves her dreams.

The style of the band dressed in white playing while the camera pans around them reminds me of the classic Psycho le Cemu music video for their song “With.” I almost wish Song was wearing a strange, fuzzy, horned monster costume haha.

What a super cute song! The lyrics are sugary and romantic, the melody lively and sweet, and Pijika and Karn’s voices make a lovely duet~
What an interesting decision to pair such an in-depth music video with it, where it’s the year 4,524 and the world is rebuilding itself after World War 18, and somehow people have developed the ability to know the exact date they will die, and everyone has their own specific jobs, and the guy in the video’s job is to document everyone by taking a picture when they get married and when they die. So I guess for the native-geisha couple, it was both their wedding photo and her death-day photo? Seems strange to pair such a somber, dystopian video with such a lighthearted, happy song. Or does the contrast strangely work for it? What do you think?
